Mike,

I  have only recently discovered your band " Blindside Blues Band" through the Grooveyard site and after
hearing a few samples off the "Smokehouse Session" album I thought this sounds like my type of stuff and
ordered the album straight away from their site.
Well it arrived yesterday and got put straight into the CD player and I will tell you, I was blown away big
time.
This, with out a doubt will be my album of the year by a mile....... I have not heard an album of this quality
since  Bad Company's first two releases and it is an absolute joy to hear a band play with the passion and
feeling that is delivered, when hearing this album that is so lacking in any form of music today.
I have never before, sent an email to any  artist or band after hearing an album, but I have never  sat back
before and gone 'Holy F**k, how good is this and I've been a music fanatic for about 40 years !!!!!!!!
I swear to god, if this album ever got the promotion it deserved, any lover of bluesy rock would snap this
up in a heartbeat....
This is not just my best album of 2009, this will be in my top 5 albums of all time and trust me, I'm not
exagerating.
So to you Mike and the rest of the guys, hats off to you all for an album that to me is a masterpiece and I
will be praying for a "Smokehouse Session Volume 2,3,4,5,6 and actually don't let it end.
Just brilliant and just such a breath of fresh air to an industry that is dying  of such a slow and painful death
due to arsewipes that are only in it to make a quick buck...{Or should I say record labels}, who put out
music that has a shelf life the same as that of a packet of chips
So I thank you and the rest of the guys for this album and I can tell you that this CD will not be leaving the
player for a long, long time and I can also guarantee to you that I'm going to  spread the word to many a
people of  the 'Blindside Blues Band" and how good they are!!!!!!!

Regards,

ONESKO BOGERT CEO PROJECT
Big Electric Cream Jam
Grooveyard Records

This one really blew our minds the first time we heard it, primarily due to the line up but also
because of the unrelenting power and passion the musicians put into the performance. Recorded
live at the Beachland Ballroom in Euclid, Ohio (9.9.08), the OBC trio includes legendary bassist
Tim Bogert who got his start in Vanilla Fudge, then Cactus and Beck, Bogert & Appice. He is
joined by guitarist and vocalist Mike Onesko and drummer Emery Ceo from the Blindside Blues
Band. For those still curious about the Blindside Blues Band…this is the time to really check these
guys out. Onesko is a guitar god! His rhythmic pattern and all-consuming embrace of the blues, ala
Clapton is mesmerizing. Big Electric Cream Jam celebrates all things Cream as the trio pay the
ultimate homage to the ‘60s giants. The disc erupts with a ripping version of “Crossroads” that
easily stands up to the original Fillmore version from Wheels of Fire. Onesko’s voice even sounds
like Clapton but his guitar tone captures true magic. The majority of songs are taken from 1967’s
Disraeli Gears (4 out of 10) and they stick, pretty much, to the harder rock tracks. You can even
hear a little Van Halen in “Politician” where Bogert goes nuts on his bass groove.

The band leave out the poppy “I Feel Free” and there’s no “Strange Brew” but they did include a
killer, 8-minute version of Howlin’ Wolf’s “Spoonful” and the thunderous “Toad” from Fresh.
“Toad’s” always been a favorite, and the trio nail it down with a gargantuan riff and monster drum
solo. The heavy-handed intro of “Sitting on Top of the World” leads right in to Bogert powerful
bass thump and really demonstrates how well the band work together. It’s played so thick and
chunky that one could easily mistake this version as a Sabbath outtake. The upbeat “I’m So Glad”
is a nice counter balance, bouncing along to the drumbeat and opens plenty of room for the rhythm
guitar to flush out the distinct solo breaks. It’s positively chilling when the guitar and bass synch up
in an electric duet. For us, the standout is the wicked pairing of “Outside Women Blues” and its
proper link with “Tales of Brave Ulysses” – a bold move but one that works extremely well. No
surprise when the crowd goes crazy as the chords are stuck for “Sunshine of Your Love,” a mind
blowing way to end a thrilling set, especially if you stick around for bonus track “Sweet Wine” and
its marathon workout of guitar gymnastics. Wish we could have been there

THE NEW RELEASE FROM
THE   BLINDSIDE BLUES BAND
BURY THE AXE
RAISED ON ROCK
BLINDSIDE BLUES BAND
Raised On Rock
Grooveyard Records

We can’t get enough of this record! It’s so powerful, so majestic, so heavy. Mike Onesko (guitar/vocals),
Scott Johnson (guitar), Kier Staeheli (bass) and Emery Ceo (drums) have out done themselves with their
finest effort to date. Maybe it’s the thick, woolly guitar tone or the Pat Travers-meets-Leslie West in the
voice. Whatever the magic, it keeps calling back for one more play. Production is at a premium with Onesko
monitoring the board yet engineer Jim Stewart really helps find the sweet spot. The sound of an FM radio
searching for true rock, starts the disc. Eventually the dial hits a seductive riff in the background, suddenly it’s
in your face at full volume. “I was born with the blues / but I was raised on rock” blasts from the speakers
and your totally hooked. The band are preaching to ya and your hearing the word because it’s the soundtrack
of your life too. An Aerosmith-induced “Night Train” cracks the whip as bass and drum crank the pistons.
The guitar bleeds from the sky as the rhythm chugs down the tracks. And that’s just the first two songs.

Perfectly, the Johnny Cash classic “Folsom Prison Blues” locks in and the band are blowing out the heaviest
version we’ve ever heard. The emotion in the vocal is so convincing you’d swear Onesko “shot a man in
Reno just to watch him die.” Time after time this disc reminded us of West, Bruce and Laing’s Why Dontcha
(1973) in strength and power. So it no surprise that “Love Is Worth The Blues” from that record is featured
prominently here. Musically BBB take it deeper giving it an almost Black Sabbath-meets-UFO dirge. Second
guitarist S. Johnson has an uncanny Michael Schenker-like presence to his solo runs. If any track will raise the
hair on the back of your neck, this will be the one. The Seventies presence keeps coming in the Montrose
inspired “Take You Down” and the Hagar-esque “War In The Streets.” Both raise the banner as hard rock
anthems. “Bury The Axe” and “Wave On” take the best of Hendrix and Trower by fusing them together into
a monster jam. Personal favorites are the rumbling “Backstreet Rider,” Uli Roth-inspired “Child Of The Sun”
and bone-crushing “World On Fire.” Stick around for the 11-minute+ “hidden” instrumental track – it’s
smokin’!
